Odinstat vs vidIQ and TubeBuddy

vidIQ and TubeBuddy are publishing tools: they estimate keyword demand, suggest tags and titles, and show public stats for other channels, to help you guess what to make next.

Odinstat is a measurement tool: it runs statistics on what already happened on your own channel and tells you which results were real. It does no keyword research, no tag SEO, no public competitor stats, and no earnings estimates.

Different job, different data

Keyword tools work from public and estimated data: search volume guesses, competition scores, other channels’ view counts. That is the right input for the question “what topic should I try?”. Odinstat works only from your channel’s private analytics, pulled read-only through Google OAuth: daily views, impressions, retention curves, traffic sources, subscribers, and revenue. That is the right input for “which of my videos actually worked, and why?”.

Odinstat never estimates anything from “channels like yours”. Every number is computed from your own history with standard statistics, and when there is not enough data to say something honestly, it says “not enough data”.

What only Odinstat answers

Whether a video is a genuine outlier against your median or just the top of a normal spread. Whether your thumbnails earned more clicks than their reach predicts. Where, to the percent, viewers leave each video. Whether your Shorts or your long-form actually perform better for you on five metrics. How long each video keeps earning views. Which of your videos convert the most subscribers per view. Each with a significance check and a public method.

What only keyword tools answer

How many people search a phrase. Which tags a competitor uses. What a channel you do not own is doing this week. Rough earnings estimates for any public channel. Odinstat does not attempt any of these, and it does not pretend a statistic about your channel is a prediction about the market.

Using them together

Many creators keep a keyword tool for ideation and use Odinstat to judge the result. The keyword tool proposes; your audience votes; Odinstat counts the votes properly. If you only want one, the question is whether your bottleneck is choosing topics or understanding outcomes.

What you need

Odinstat requires a channel you own or manage, connected read-only. It has no free public lookup and no browser extension.

What this is not

  • Keyword research, search volume, or tag suggestions.
  • Competitor tracking or earnings estimates for channels you do not own.

Odinstat runs this on your own channel, read-only, with a 14-day free trial from $10/month.
